Sourcing wedding accessories from China to the US  

For successful customs clearance in the US, the importer has to provide the following documents: 

  • Commercial Invoice issued by the seller  
  • Certificate of Origin  
  • Customs bond (for all commercial imports valued at $2500 or more)  
  • Packing List 
  • Evidence of the contract of carriage (Air Waybill, AWB for air freight; Bill of Lading, B/L for sea freight) 
  • Entry Manifest (CBP Form 7533). 

If you ship your goods from China to the US by sea freight, you also need to file the Import Security Filing, known as “10+2”.
