How to get to Guzhen?
Fortunately, Guzhen is located in a strategic place and is easy to get to. The nearest airports are in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen.
From Guangzhou Baiyun Airport to Zhongshan, you can take an intercity bus for approx. 68 RMB, and then change to the bus towards Guzhen (approx. 120 km altogether). The trip should take up to three hours. Alternatively, you can take a taxi and reach Guzhen in over an hour. From the airport, you can also take the metro, line 2 or 3, then change and get to Guzhen by taxi or bus. High-speed rail travel from the Guangzhou South Railway Station to the station in Guzhen takes half an hour and costs about 30 RMB.
You can get to Guzhen from Hong Kong International Airport by bus and then by taxi. The journey is about 2 to 3 hours (about 140 km). One option is to take only a taxi, in this case, the journey is about one and half an hour. There is also a possibility to reach Zhongshan by a ferry from Skypier near the airport (from about one hour to one hour) and from there by taxi.
The journey from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport to Guzhen (about 100 km) is the shortest, a little over an hour by taxi.
It is important to remember that while in mainland China traveling through Hong Kong or Macao requires a visa to double-cross the Chinese border.
How to get around Guzhen?
In Guzhen, the easiest way to get around is by taxi, preferably with a local guide. Taxi rides are cheap, fares ranging from 2 RMB to 3 RMB per kilometer.
The cost of a bus ticket is a minimum of RMB 1.50 per course. About 80 lines are available in Zhongshan itself.
The main shopping centers in Guzhen are very close to each other, so from one center to another, it takes 5 minutes by car.
